They’ll use a treasure map to guide them through the French Quarter, learning about trade, daily life, and battles for power and control of the port of New Orleans. Join us for an unforgettable treasure hunt around the French Quarter. The tour follows a treasure map, searching for clues about our past: pirates, icky streets and of course a little dress up.

Students will learn about who lived here, why they lived here and how they impacted our culture, our land and our laws. The beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the debate over slavery, the growth of America will all be explored through the events and lifestyle of 19th century New Orleans.

Students in 2nd through 5th grade will explore life along the bayou. Find out how this unique area was formed and how it’s changed over the years. Explore the plants and animals that live here and their unique adaptations, allowing them to survive despite hurricanes, heat, and floods. But, can they survive humans? Kids will also learn about how fragile our “sliver by the river” is and how we can protect it. A portion of the proceeds for this field trip benefit the Pontchartrain Conservancy.
